Exhaustion of H-1B Visa Numbers Throws A Wrench in U.S. Economic Growth!
Exhaustion of 65K General and 20K Advanced Degree Visa Caps Leaves U.S. Employers Unable to Recruit Highly Educated, Foreign-born Innovators and Job Creators for 10 Months
With the FY 2012 65,000 standard H-1B visa cap being hit last week and the 20,000 exemption for advanced degree holders exhausted since mid-October 2011, U.S. employers must wait another 10 months until they can hire new highly educated, foreign-born professionals who help grow the American economy and create U.S. jobs.
Tying America’s economic future to a set number of visas does not reflect business reality nor provide for business predictability – and is no way to grow an economy!
With the exhaustion of the H-1B cap, we need a solution that reflects employer needs. As American employers are investing in our economic recovery, demand has picked up, but businesses are impeded in hiring highly skilled professionals because the H-1B cap has been exhausted even two months earlier than last fiscal year.
Don’t stop growth now!
