On January 7, 2013, the Migration Policy Institute release a report entitled “Immigration Enforcement in the United States: The Rise of a Formidable Machinery.” This report highlights the significant investment the federal government has made in immigration enforcement since the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) was enacted in 1986.
