ACIP Members Invited: USCIS Engagement on Self-Check (E-Verify) Program

The USCIS Verification Division and the Office of Public Engagement will hold a national stakeholder engagement to discuss the nationwide launch of Self Check program on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 3:00 pm ET at the USCIS Orlando Field Office. The Self Check program is an online service of the E-Verify system and allows for an individual to check his/her employment eligibility in the United States. During the engagement, USCIS will describe and demonstrate the service, discuss its performance, and debut the new Self Check webpages and promotional materials. ACIP Members Invited: USCIS Teleconference on E-Verify Final Non-Confirmation Review Process

The USCIS Verification Division will hold a teleconference on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 3:00 - 4:30 pm ET to discuss a potential Final Nonconfirmation Review (FNC) process for E-Verify. The E-Verify system, at this time, does not provide a formal process for employers and employees to request a reexamination of a case when an FNC was received in error. USCIS is looking for input from stakeholders relating to the development of an FNC review process. ACIP Members Save the Date: USCIS Engagement with Director Mayorkas

USCIS will hold a national stakeholder engagement with Director Alejandro Mayorkas to discuss agency’s accomplishments for 2011 and priorities in 2012. The event will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm ET at USCIS Tomich Center in Washington, D.C. Following the discussion, participants will be able to join various breakout sessions: Consistency in the Adjudication of Immigration Benefits; Customer Service and Public Engagement; and Fraud Detection and National Security. Do you want to get the insider’s scoop on what is going on in immigration in Washington? On January 9th, ACIP will begin our monthly “Inside the Beltway” series for members. We invite you to join us every month for a recap of the previous month’s immigration events as well as a look forward to what may be in store in Congress and the agencies.  Please feel free to also invite your Government Relations teams to join in the calls.  
 
Our first call will take place next Monday, January 9th at 2 pm ET.  Speakers include ACIP’s Director of Agency Liaison, Jasmine Majid and ACIP’s Director of Legislative Affairs, Rebecca Peters with a welcome message by ACIP’s Executive Director, Lynn Shotwell.  We will utilize the following dial-in and we invite all members to participate.  There will be time for questions and answers.

CISOMB: Teleconference on VIBE Issues

The Office of the CIS Ombudsman will hold a teleconference on USCIS Validation Instrument for Business Enterpises (VIBE) program on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 2:00 - 3:00 pm ET. The teleconference will provide an opportunity for the stakeholder community to provide comments on how VIBE is impacting filings, processing times, RFEs, and decisions. VIBE is a tool that USCIS utilizes to obtain commercially available information about companies and organizations petitioning to employ foreign workers.
