On March 21, 2013, ACIP’s webinar series continued with a webinar with Kenneth Sava, Director of Trusted Traveler Programs at CBP, who discussed Global Entry, a program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States.  An additional benefit of Global Entry is that registrants are automatically enrolled with TSA Pre Check, meaning travel will be expedited both at the borders and within the United States.  This is a very timely benefit as both CBP and TSA are implementing rollbacks due to the sequester.

 

ACIP is pleased to announce that Global Entry will once again provide the opportunity for on-site enrollment at this year’s symposium! The webinar includes information about the pre-symposium requirements to enroll on-site.

On February 14, 2013, ACIP’s webinar series continued with a discussion of the latest developments in H-1Bs, including predictions as to when the cap will be hit this year. Attorney Scott Fitzgerald and ACIP Manager of Agency Liaison Justin Storch discussed trends in adjudication and enforcement, RFEs, and processing times. In addition, ACIP’s Director & Counsel for Legislative Affairs Rebecca Peters discussed what might be on the horizon for H-1Bs in immigration legislation.

On January 31, 2013, ACIP’s 2013 webinar series kicked off with a presentation valuable to new and old members alike.   ACIP staff members provided an overview of what we do and what services we can offer for you in 2013. We discussed our J-1 program, how we can advocate for you in the immigration debate, and how we can engage the federal agencies on your behalf.

On February 16^th, ACIP held a members-only free webinar to provide members with a full view of how to best prepare for 2013 H-1B visas!  This webinar provided an overview of how the H-1B cap and lottery work; why you need to be thinking about 2013 visas in February 2012; our predictions for the FY2013 cap; and a quick discussion of alternate visas you may consider.
